The Covid-19 pandemic that caused global disruption starting in late 2019 or early 2020 led to changes in travel and work environment structure. IRG was not immune to such trends and the IRG meetings in 2020 and 2021 were held as online Webinars, the contents of which are archived in the IRG Meetings webpages.
However, following the return to physical IRG meetings in 2022 it was recognized that the then accepted use of Webinars as an online tool for meetings presented an opportunity for IRG to reach more of its members and the IRG diaspora through regular Webinars to be held in late November of each year. These commenced in 2022 with the intention that they will continue as part of the IRG's Scientific Programme Committee's functions and responsibility.
