Excursion

Arcangues is a beautiful village, famous thanks to the singer Luis Mariano: we visited the village centre and the school with its blue shutters, the pelota court and the church with its unique nave.
Then, we visited the Arnaga villa and its garden: Edmond Rostand, author of Cyrano de Bergerac, decided to buy in 1902 several hectares on the hill to build an exceptional neo-Basque house. The excursion continued with the discovery of the Basque villages with the visit of Espelette and the farming of its famous red pepper: the pepper, used in the Basque cuisine, is part of the Basque tradition. A local producer explained the different steps of the farming and organized a tasting of Espelette red pepper. Finally we had a fabuloussurprise dinner in downtown Biarritz.
