Shankara is a lively place welcoming artists and artisans from different streams of life. It is located in the out-skirts of Bangalore city on Kanakpura Road. The drive to Shankara from the conference venue is about one hour. It hosts revivalist programmes, cultural events, craft melas, special training programs and workshops. Shankara preserves and nourishes a tradition that connects diverse art forms. The creative energy and primary initiative to create all this came from classical dancer Rashme Hegde Gopi who envisioned Shankara as confluence of art and life and a bridge between artists and art lovers.
