Laboratory Environmental Tests

Environmental field tests of wood protection techniques has been an ad hoc development around the world. While specific laboratory tests have emerged from regulatory authorities over the years, developments in field and service impact testing have been more situationally based.

In the U.S. environmental studies with wood protection have been focused on aquatic environment aspects, and this is especially so in the western regions of the U.S.Some such testing is shown, but this area of specialty continues to evolve with time.

In concept, most of the methods used rely on rainfall to fall on treated wood and the runoff water is collected and analyzed for preservative content.
