Aldo Gandolfi Jr

It is with deep regret that we announce the death on May 21, 2023, at the age of 82, of Chemist Aldo Gandolfi Jr., a prominent figure in the Brazilian paint and wood preservation sector.

Aldo ended his earthly journey at his beautiful summer home on the banks of the Itupararanga lake, Ibiúna, Brazil, in a very peaceful environment, alongside his wife Denise and his three daughters Gisele, Milene, and Daniele.

Aldo began his career as an intern at the Technological Research Institute of the State of São Paulo - IPT, then joined Osmose Pentox do Brasil, the forerunner of Montana Química Ltda., where he retired as General Manager after 47 years of activity.  He participated in the founding assembly of the Brazilian Association of Wood Preservers - ABPM, held on 08/25/1969, and in its first board, as Secretary.  He was twice president of this entity and also belonged to the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Association of Paint Manufacturers - ABRAFATI, from which he received the title “Abrafati Personality” in 2014.  He was an active member of several international organizations, including the American Wood Protection Association - AWPA, Hoover, Alabama, and the International Research Group on Wood Protection - IRG, Stockholm.

In May 1985, Also successfully organized in Brazil the IRG15 annual meeting at the Casagrande Hotel, Guarujá.

Also's enterprising personality and ability to deal with people, always willing to collaborate, marked his passage in these organizations. The industry loses a renowned executive; we lost a friend.
