LOC has prepared the following three programs. All of them is used an arranged bus with lunches. The minimum number of participants is 10 people in each tour. An interpreter will accompany in each tour as well.
The participation fee for each tour is calculated by dividing the total cost by the number of participants. To be honest, LOC has no idea how many people will participate in the companion tours. Since LOC would like to estimate the participation fee in advance, we would like to know the approximate number of participants for each tour. The minimum number of accompanying people is 10, so if there are fewer than 10 people, the program may be canceled. Furthermore, since the ‘Yokohama sightseeing’ program is an experiential tour, there is a limit to the number of people.
With these things in mind, we would like to ask you in advance.
If you are interested in the programs below and may or would like to participate, please send your name, the program name(s) and number of participants to BOTH of two LOC members by email until MARCH 31st.
Hiroshi Matsunaga: email
Yoshio Katagiri: email
Once LOC knows an approximate number, we will announce it again in April. LOC will directly handle the companions programmes registrations. LOC is currently considering payment methods and will make an announcement on this website as soon as they are decided. Again, I would like to say thank you for your cooperation in advance. We are looking forward to seeing you at Yokohama!
We will do a full day trip to Tokyo area. This is a tour of Tokyo, the capital of Japan, located 30km from Yokohama. After viewing the National Diet Building from the bus window, we will stop by the Kabukiza Gallery, a traditional Japanese performing art. Next, we will visit Sensoji Temple, then have free time (shopping for souvenirs, etc.) at Nakamise street and have lunch. After lunch, we will go to Tokyo's landmark radio tower, TOKYO SKYTREE (634m height). It is the world's tallest tower, and the world's third tallest building after the Burj Khalifa and Merdeka 118. We will go to the Skytree observation deck, then have a free stroll before returning to Yokohama.
We will meet in Pacifio Yokohama Convention Center foyer (to be scheduled) at 9:00AM to board our bus for the day, returning by 5:00PM.
*NOTE: If there are more than 20 people, a large bus will be used and the price will change.
We will travel by bus Hakone and Mt. Fuji, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Japan, located about 80km from Yokohama. After a highway drive for just under two hours, we arrive at Lake Ashinoko. Lake Ashinoko is a caldera lake located at an altitude of 724m, with a circumference of 19km, an area of 6.9km2, and a maximum depth of 43.5m. We take a sightseeing boat on this lake. It is a scenic spot where you can see Mt. Fuji. We arrive at Kojiri Port, get back on the bus, and have lunch at the highland resort area of Sengokuhara. After lunch, we go to Oshino Hakkai, where the fantastic scenery spreads out. Oshino Hakkai is a group of eight springs whose source is the underground water of Mt. Fuji. The spring water, which has been filtered through underground lava for decades from the meltwater of Mt. Fuji, is surprisingly clear because impurities have been removed! It has also been designated as one of Japan's 100 famous waters. After a stroll while looking at the beautiful Mt. Fuji, we return to Yokohama.
We will meet in Pacifio Yokohama Convention Center foyer (to be scheduled) at 9:00AM to board our bus for the day, returning by 5:00PM.

We will do a full day trip to Yokohama area. After a 30-minute drive, we arrive at the Japanese garden, Sankeien Garden. We will leisurely stroll through the Japanese garden for about 2 hours and then head to Yamashita Park for lunch. Yamashita Park is the first seaside park in Japan and the most famous park in Yokohama. After lunch, we will go to the Yokohama Port Museum. There, you can learn about the history, structure and role of Yokohama Port. Then, we will visit the Cup Noodle Museum, which is the highlight of this excursion. Through the museum’s many exhibits you can learn about the creative thinking of Momofuku Ando, the founder of Nissin Food Products and inventor of Chicken Ramen, the world’s first instant ramen that revolutionized eating customs all over the world. As an experience, each person will make their own original cup noodle and take it home as a souvenir.
